Chapter One: Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study
Gender representation plays a pivotal role in shaping the dynamics and inclusivity of events. Events that promote balanced gender participation often foster diversity, creativity, and equal opportunities for all attendees. In Lokoja Local Government Area, Kogi State, cultural, social, and professional events provide platforms for community engagement and development. However, gender disparities in event participation remain a concern, influenced by cultural norms, societal expectations, and logistical barriers. This study examines the influence of gender representation on event participation in Lokoja LGA, exploring its implications for inclusivity, diversity, and overall event success.

1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite efforts to promote gender equality, many events in Lokoja LGA still experience unequal gender representation. 1.7 Scope and Limitations of the Study
The study focuses on gender representation in events organized within Lokoja LGA, Kogi State. It does not extend to other aspects of event planning or other geographical areas.
